Emilee E. Colón-Lorenzo is an Adjunct Professor at the RCMI Infectious and Global Diseases Research Program at University of Puerto Rico-School of Medicine. She has a BS in Industrial Microbiology from UPR-Mayagüez and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UPR-Medical Sciences with expertise in molecular/cellular biology, molecular parasitology, and bioinformatics. Dr. Colón’s experience includes: Plasmodium berghei in vitro and in vivo drug testing, reverse genetics, recombinant DNA technology, enzyme activity assay, training in mosquitoes as a vector of infectious diseases, among others. In addition, she is interested in vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chikungunya, and zika. Her achievements include publications (DOI: 10.5220/0002747401730180, PMID: 21143936, PMID: 26952808), awarded with two pre-doctoral fellowships, and recently obtained funds from NIH-RCMI for a small pilot project.

She has also trained both undergraduate and graduate students in molecular/cellular biology techniques and laboratory procedures related to their research projects. She is involved in designing and performing experiments; analyzing results, writing and revising manuscripts for publication, and provides support in the writing of grant proposal.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
