Overview
Our lab focuses on molecular, cellular and cancer biology investigating natural therapeutics, breast cancer and diabetes. Currently, we investigate inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) biology and potential natural therapeutics for this intractable disease. My long-term goal is to lead independent research programs to identify molecular targets and develop effective strategies for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. Currently, I stimulate the participation of minority students in cancer research both at the undergraduate and graduate level. I have three Ph.D. level students, one M.S. student, and three undergraduates in my laboratory. The Ph.D. students are in diverse stages within their training, where one of them is a NIH-F31 recipient. Our lab has two funded projects, which focus on training students in cutting edge techniques in cancer research, and investigating Reishi mushroom mechanistic effects against IBC in vitro and in vivo.
Bibliographic
PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media.
(Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.)
Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication.
Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.)
