Clement is currently an Assistant Professor at Jackson State University. He has a strong concentration in the field of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and Therapeutics. He completed his postdoctoral training in the Cellomics and Toxicogenomics Research Laboratory and Molecular Toxicology. His current research focuses on the following aspects: (1) Preclinical assessment of physiologic doses of ascorbic acid in combination with pharmacologic dose of arsenic trioxide (Trisenox) for the management of acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and other malignancies. (2) Basic and translational studies of ascorbic acid and arsenic trioxide effects on tumor metastasis. (3) Role of host immune system in ascorbic acid treatment. (4) Mechanisms of action of ascorbic acid when combined with arsenic trioxide for the treatment of APL patients. (5) Preclinical assessment of vernonia amygdalina leaf extracts as anti-cancer agent in the management of human breast cancer. As Junior Investigator, Clement has secured 3 mini competitive grants and so far, he has published 30 peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals. He is a co-author of two book chapters; an editorial board member of the Environmental Toxicology, Drug and therapy Studies, and a reviewer of many international journals including the Environmental Research and Public Health, Indian Pharmacology Journal and McGraw Hill of High Education textbooks.
