overview I am currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Physiology, Director of Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of the Mentoring Academy at MSM and Co-investigator in the National Research Mentoring Network for a Diverse Biomedical Workforce. I have received extensive training in the laboratory of Dr. Everett Anderson, James Stillman Professor of Comparative Anatomy and Professor of Cell Biology, Harvard Medical School and as Embryologist at the world-renowned Marine Biological Laboratories, Wood Hole, MA. I have served on a number of study sections from NIH and DOD. I have also served as a faculty mentor in the NICHD Aspen Conference on Maternal-Fetal-Neonatal-Reproductive Medicine and the Magee-Women’s Research Institute BIRCWH Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. I am a NIH-funded (R01 and U01) basic science investigator in the field of women reproductive health and infertility and has directed multidisciplinary, multi-investigator research teams with a strong track record of establishing effective inter institutional partnerships including the Cooperative Reproductive Science Research Center, Atlanta Center for Translational Research on Endometriosis (partnership with Dr. Robert Taylor, Emory University) and Stem Cell Biology Training Course (partnership with Dr. Gerald Schatten, Magee Women’s Institute).
