overview Dr. House is an Assistant Professor of Cancer Biology in the Biology Department at San Diego State University (SDSU). She received a BS in Biology from George Mason University in 2004. She then completed a postbaccalaureate fellowship at the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She received her PhD in Molecular Medicine from The George Washington University in 2011. Her graduate work focused on clarifying the role of voltage-activated ion channels in colon cancer progression. Dr. House then completed her postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute at NIH, where she investigated the NF-kB signaling pathway in chemotherapy resistant ovarian cancer stem cells. Dr. House joined SDSU in 2018 where her lab continues to investigate mechanisms of ovarian cancer relapse and the role of the tumor microenvironment in supporting chemotherapy resistance. She also is the Co-Leader of the Weight in Cancer Research Project of SDSU HealthLINK Center.
