    Collapse overview
Current interest is to engage quantitative analysis laboratory students in research through laboratory experience. Students will have the opportunity to participate in environmental science and toxicology projects that will transform the community of Texas Southern University. Investigation of water quality has been addressed in the third ward of Houston, TX. However, more analyses are needed to fully understand how the community is impacted. I am looking to collaborate and partner with other organizations to enhance student learning through health disparities and environmental science.

Research interest is to modify cotton cellulose for applications in environmental science and biological science. The approach is to study how cotton cellulose can be useful in environmental and biological sciences using greener chemistry applications.

Other research involves the use of surface analysis to determine the properties of nanoparticles and nature polymers. One study involves the design and preparation of cotton- based wound dressings for accelerated wound healing in chronic wounds. This research has led to the investigation of characterizing the surface properties of cotton cellulose, a natural polymer. Other research includes the investigation electrochemical methods using nanosized electrodes to detect trace levels of metals in soil and water. These investigations require the use of scanning electron microscopy, ATR IR and other surface analysis instruments to establish it properties on the microscopic and nanoscopic scale.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication. Some publications (especially newer ones and publications not in PubMed) might not yet be assigned Field or Translation tags.) Click a Field or Translation tag to filter the publications.
