Collapse Overview
Collapse description
We will demonstrate that PRKCBP1 is a regulator of HIF-1 activity, likely through chromatin remodeling. Our goals in this project are to identify the mechanisms by which PRKCBP1 modulates the HIF response and define its role in ischemic heart disease. Our identification of a new oxygen-dependent and previously unsuspected regulator of HIF may provide a target for new therapeutic approaches to ischemic heart disease.
