Dr. Mary Jo Trepka is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Epidemiology, Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at FIU. She is an infectious disease epidemiologist who focuses on the role of social determinants in health disparities in HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. Currently, she is studying the role of patient-centered HIV care and women-centered HIV care in helping people with HIV to be retained in HIV care and virally suppressed despite psychosocial barriers. She is also leading a study about the influence of the COVID-19 Pandemic on people living with HIV. Trained by the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, she has led infectious disease surveillance and disease control efforts at both the state and local levels.

PMC Citations indicate the number of times the publication was cited by articles in PubMed Central, and the Altmetric score represents citations in news articles and social media. (Note that publications are often cited in additional ways that are not shown here.) Fields are based on how the National Library of Medicine (NLM) classifies the publication's journal and might not represent the specific topic of the publication. Translation tags are based on the publication type and the MeSH terms NLM assigns to the publication.
