overview	The goal of my research is to test the hypothesis that traumatic brain injury (TBI) contributes to the development of fear and anxiety disorders, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). TBI affects approximately 2 million civilians and soldiers each year, many of who are diagnosed with mental health conditions like PTSD. There are common mechanisms that contribute to the neurobiology of TBI and PTSD, and both conditions can result in impaired learning and emotional regulation.
