Bio:
Dr. Sullivan has a research interest in behavior change. She is an advanced practice nurse in psychiatric mental health, and has conducted a pilot program for person living with HIV/AIDS that included chronic disease self-management. She is interested in promoting healthy lifestyles among persons living with HIV who may also suffer from depression.
She is a member of the International HIV/AIDS Nursing Research Network, and has contributed to study design, implementation and dissemination of findings as a member of this research group.
She is also interested in health care utilization among ethnic minority populations.
She enjoys teaching mental health nursing in a multicultural context. She has practiced nursing in Hawaii and Australia, and served as an Ambassador of Goodwill in Fiji, through a Rotary International Grant for University Teachers Serving in Developing Countries. Rural health nursing education is a scholarly and academic endeavor she will continue to develop and pursue.
